Jesse Kincade

Owner/Founder and Lead Arts Facilitator

Jesse has spent her life immersed in the arts. Raised in a family of artists, she was encouraged and inspired to follow her own creative journey. Jesse moved from San Francisco to Nevada County in 2020 where she is now raising two budding artists.

She earned her degree in psychology, focusing on behavioral research, and spent most of her career supporting adults and children with developmental disabilities through the arts, advocacy and community inclusion. Jesse spent 3 years as the co-founder and program director of an after school Art Therapy program before venturing out on her own to bring The Art Place Studio to the community that she is so grateful to be a part of.

When she is not creating art projects for the program, she is still making art! Jesse is a painter, jewelry maker, mixed media sculptor, and is continuously exploring new modes of creative expression for herself and the children at the studio.

Taya Burke

Arts Facilitator

Taya Burke is a credentialed Early Childhood Special Education Teacher and has taught in multiple settings throughout California and Nevada County.

She uses concepts like Universal Designs for Learning, Positive Reinforcement, and imaginative play to support students in their art.

She is a local artist and published poet and even has some poems that made it all the way to the moon in the Lunar Codex project!

We are grateful to have Taya as part of the Art Place Studio team. Supporting aspiring artists is a huge passion of hers and she delights in the uniqueness of each student that participates in the program.

Lindsey KoneffKlatt

Arts Facilitator

Lindsey moved to Nevada City in 2018 and quickly fell in love with the magic of this creative community. A former middle and high school teacher with a Master’s in Education, she later transitioned into software sales leadership before choosing to step away and focus on raising her two young children.

These days, Lindsey finds joy in hiking local trails, traveling, enjoying good food and live music, and creating art alongside her kids and the kids at the studio. She believes deeply in the power of art, connection, and creativity to help children grow, express themselves, and feel a sense of belonging.

Kelly Ford

Sub Arts Facilitator

Kelly is an incredible NCSA mom who demonstrates amazing dedication and care for the children in our studio. She has volunteered in Jesse’s art programs for years and we are thrilled to have her as a member of our team. Her nurturing nature, giving heart and enthusiasm for the arts makes her an invaluable mentor in our program.

With a background in art, communications, and childcare, she is devoted to creating and fostering growth with the kids in our community!

Katie Kincade-Kind

Arts and Media

Our resident “Poster Girl”! Katie is an accomplished artist known for her incredible poster art and branding for bands and festivals including the High Sierra Music Festival and Hangtown Music Festival among many others. She is also known to be the friend that all the children gravitate toward due to her playful nature and open heart.

She recently moved to Nevada County from Petaluma and with over a decade of childcare and art instruction experience, she is thrilled to share her creativity and knowledge!
